Darling Buds of May

SHALL I compare thee to a summer's day . . . well, we all have our perfect picture of the seasons but this month, May, is my favourite.

That's not only because my birthday falls towards the end but as, by now,  spring has settled and is blowing warmly upon us, while summer pleasures at last feel close.
Here at Great Marton on the Irish Sea coast of Lancashire, the gardens and parks are beginning to bloom and, in the country fields of the Fylde, lambs are gambolling gleefully. You only have to look around to be stirred and uplifted . . .
That's how I feel, anyway, and here - on this light literary website - we hope to further lift your spirits.
You'll see from our Books page (near top of right column) what's currently available and can sample or buy from there. Books are published on Kindle by Amazon and in paperback sponsored by the British Arts Council. Any purchases help pay for this non-profit-making site started by retired journalists tired of all that bad news.
On our regularly updated Story/Chapter page we bring you free reading pleasure and hope to soon add chapters from books in the pipeline, for publishing later this year or in the near future.
There is more to read on our Memoir page and, of course, to savour on the Poem page . . . where the rest of the great Bard's most popular sonnet opens our changing contributions.
We're delighted to have website followers throughout the world. Hopefully, wherever you are there will be peace, time and comfort to enjoy some reading. It brings us closer together and enriches all our lives.
We wish you well.
